eVISO Giro backs the Breakaway King at the Tour of the Alps
The innovative app that turns physical activity into discounts on electricity bills is sponsoring the special jersey for the euro-regional cycling event (April 20-24), which is awarded to the rider who covers the most kilometres in breakaways
In cycling, it is not just victories that matter; the courage of those who dare to break away from the pack and animate the race is important too. These attacking riders, who venture off the front without guarantees, are the ones who make a race dynamic and unpredictable.
The Tour of the Alps once again dedicates a special jersey to this type of combative rider. From 20 to 24 April, the Breakaway King jersey will carry the colours of eVISO Giro, a top partner of the event.
The sponsorship agreement was signed with Infront, the company responsible for the event’s marketing and commercial rights as well as TV production, on behalf of the organizer Sport Alto Garda. This year also marks the tenth anniversary of the memorandum of understanding signed in 2016 by Tirol, Südtirol/Alto Adige, and Trentino.
The connection between eVISO and the most combative rider jersey is no coincidence. The energy company, which supplies electricity and gas to private and business customers alike, has launched the free eVISO Giro app. The app rewards users with discounts on their energy bills for engaging in physical activity, such as cycling, running or swimming.
By integrating with platforms such as Strava, Garmin, Apple Health and Google Fit, eVISO Giro converts steps and kilometres into virtual energy, which is then converted into savings on monthly bills.
The eVISO Giro logo will be displayed on the special jersey awarded to the most combative Tour of the Alps rider. Like all leader jerseys in the Euro-regional race, it is produced by Alé Cycling. The most courageous rider, who covers the greatest distance in breakaways during the stage race, will be honoured daily on the podium.
Last year, this classification was won by Dutch climber Koen Bouwman of Team Jayco AlUla, who also achieved a strong fourth-place finish in the final stage in Lienz and came second in the King of the Mountains standings.
“In cycling, it is those who choose to inject energy into the competition that bring the races to life. That’s why we’re particularly proud to have the eVISO Giro brand on the TotA 2026 Special Jersey, which is awarded to the most combative rider,” said Gianfranco Sorasio, CEO of eVISO. - "Rewarding those who cover the most kilometres on the attack recognises determination and the ability to generate energy within the race — values that closely reflect eVISO Giro, the first app to convert sporting activity into savings on energy bills. Supporting this special jersey within the Tour of the Alps is therefore a tangible way to celebrate those who choose to challenge themselves and make a difference.”
“The partnership with eVISO Giro is a clear demonstration of how the Tour of the Alps has become an attractive platform for innovative companies capable of engaging with a young and active community.’ This jersey goes beyond competitive results; it is a tribute to those who dare, who race with creativity and initiative — values that we strongly share at Infront. We are delighted to support #TotA in an evolution that combines sporting tradition with a forward-looking vision”, said Stefano Deantoni, Marketing Director of Infront Italy.
