Green is the Color of Success for the Tour of the Alps and Suzuki

The Japanese manufacturer's commitment to sustainability continues: a hybrid fleet of 18 cars will accompany the Tour of the Alps, April 17-21. Also, something new for guests – See you at the "Suzuki Lounge"

It’s not all climbs, champions, and live action. The Tour of the Alps was born from an understanding embraced by all three Euroregion territoriesTirol – Südtirol/Alto Adige – Trentino, and founded on strong, shared values, which will be central to the experience of athletes, insiders, and fans alike from April 17 to 21.

Among these values, respect for the environment and the protection of precious regions like the Alps are themes present in every choice the GS Alto Garda organizers make, least not is the vehicle of choice for the race.

It’s precisely environmental awareness that’s at the heart of the partnership between the Tour of the Alps and Suzuki, which will once again supply the Euroregional cycling event with official race vehicles featuring the best of Suzuki’s hybrid technology.

In fact, the Tour of the Alps’ organizing staff will depend on a fleet of Suzuki vehicles with hybrid power. The Hamamatsu-based manufacturer will provide the GS Alto Garda organizers with a vehicle fleet that includes the Vitara HybridSwace Hybrid, and the Across. These Suzuki models combine low environmental impact with high driving pleasure. The Swace Hybrid, in particular, allows the driver to manually select the EV function to tackle stretches of road completely on electric powerwithout CO2 emissions.

This year will also see the debut of the Suzuki Lounge, the three-level hospitality center set up at the finish line by organizers. The Suzuki Lounge integrates the company's presence even more into the venue, where the event will welcome its most prestigious guests.

"Suzuki is honored to be chosen by the Tour of the Alps. This competition uniquely blends a love of sport with an active lifestyle in close contact with nature, which are themes that align with Suzuki's philosophy as well," commented Massimo Nalli, President of Suzuki Italia, who added, "The Suzuki hybrid fleet will accompany the Tour of the Alps on its unique route, while putting into practice the ideals of freedom and respect for one another – on the road as in everyday life in general."

"We are proud of this partnership that unites us with Suzuki," explained Giacomo SantiniPresident of GS Alto Garda, "based on some of the founding values of the Euro-regional alliance, such as protecting the region and respect for the environment. It’s great to see the mutual understanding and parallel visions grow year after year with a partner that strongly believes in cycling and has been a key partner: it means that not only our partnership – but our organization – are heading in the right direction."
