The Tour of the Alps is about to return after two years with its 44th edition in Tirol, Südtirol and Trentino, and the expectation riders, teams, press and fans can be clearly perceived.
Hosting the first departure from South Tyrol in the history of Tour of the Alps, excitement rises in Brixen/Bressanone in the buildup to a different and challenging edition, yet ready to provide five days of spectacular cycling to the fans watching worldwide. The 21 teams at the start, including 13 from the UCI World Tour category, and their leaders know what to expect: once again, the Euregio roads will be a reliable testing ground for everybody.
Awaiting the first road challenge (the 140,6 km from Brixen/Bressanone to Innsbruck on Monday, April 19th), tomorrow, Sunday, April 18th, the preliminary operations will take place in Brixen/Bressanone, as well as the anticipated top riders’ press conference – to be held in live streaming. At 4.15 pm, Brits Simon Yates (Team BikeExchange) and Chris Froome (Israel Start-Up Nation) and defending champion Pavel Sivakov (Ineos Grenadiers) will face off at the microphone.
The Tour of the Alps promises to be a World-class event, and the same can be said of its media coverage, with two hours of live TV coverage produced by PMG Sport broadcast in over 100 Countries.
