In 2019, the Tour of the Alps welcomes a new international partner: Suzuki will be the Official Car of the 43rd Tour of the Alps, the 5-day 2.HC International event (22-26 April 2019) through the roads of the Euregio. The House of Hamamatsu will supply eight Suzuki S-CROSS cars to the organizing committee and will follow the athletes’ journey on the fascinating routes between Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino.
The commitment is perfectly integrated into the partnership and sponsorship plan of Suzuki, a brand that is increasingly engaged in the cycling world: the Japanese company is the Italian Cycling Federation Main Partner since September 2016 and its brand is on the Italian national team athletes’ jerseys. Furthermore, for the third consecutive year, Suzuki is the Official Car of the Under 23 Giro d’Italia.
Suzuki is proud to be the Official Car of 2019 Tour of the Alps. Through this agreement, the House of Hamamatsu shares the top cycling values. In this sport, athletes are focused on never giving up and overcoming their limits with constancy and determination to achieve the desired results, just as Suzuki engineers are committed to win the most difficult technical challenges to design cars, motorcycles and outboard engines increasingly efficient and performing.
“Suzuki is close to the spirit of the people of the territories crossed by the Tour of the Alps, which offer a unique natural setting.” – Massimo Nalli, the President of Suzuki Italia, added and continued: “Hospitality and love for outdoor sport and life as well as the absolute respect for nature, are part of the cultural heritage of these communities. Suzuki shares the same philosophy through the spirit of freedom: Way of Life! and a range of sustainable products with low environmental impact, perfect for enjoying every journey in a pleasant way and in total safety“.
“We are proud to have Suzuki by our side,” Giacomo Santini, the President of GS Alto Garda, said “a brand that not only has demonstrated its passion for the world of cycling over the years, but which puts safety and reduction of environmental impact at the heart of its philosophy, as we do. We wish this can be the beginning of a long and very satisfying partnership.”
S-CROSS: the champion potential
Suzuki S-CROSS is the ideal car to face the thrilling route of the Tour of the Alps, as well as in every transfer it is called to drive, from the elegant streets of urban centres to the challenging paths, in the wildest nature.
The flagship car by Suzuki is 430 cm long and ensures exceptional agility in every moment, while hiding inside an incredibly large cabin with a 430-liter boot.
Everything on board the S-CROSS, is designed and built with care to offer a superior category car comfort, thanks to a complete equipment that includes the most refined and modern safety and driving assistance systems.
The S-CROSS range is based on a variety of supercharged engines, which guarantee outstanding performance and boast extremely low fuel consumption and emissions. These engines can also be combined with a practical automatic gearbox, which makes driving easier and more relaxing.
The most powerful 1.4 BOOSTERJET is also offered with AllGrip Select all-wheel drive. This shows Suzuki long experience in off-road applications and allows the pilot to choose between four driving modes by simply acting on a knob command located on the control panel. The available functions are: Auto, Sport, Snow and Lock and each of them applies a different strategy to better adapt to the surface and the driving style and to ensure, indeed, a precise and pleasant driving on every surface.
S-CROSS therefore has a great cycling champion potential: untiring, always ready for brilliant ideas and capable of getting out of the most challenging climbs.
