Melinda has a story of success. Represented by over 4,000 members, the Italian Consortium produces 400,000 tons of apples per year, distributed both all over the Italian territory and abroad. The partnership between Melinda and the Tour of the Alps is a success story too. For the fifth straight year, the Melinda Consortium has extended its collaboration with the euro-regional cycling event, to be held in Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino from April 19th to 23rd, 2021.
Again this year, the Melinda logo will appear on the GC leader’s jersey of the Tour of the Alps, worn by Geraint Thomas in 2017, Thibaut Pinot in 2018 and Pavel Sivakov in 2019. The international scene staged by the Tour of the Alps suits Melinda perfectly: the Trentino’s company is continuously growing in foreign markets, and the Tour of the Alps offers Melinda a media exposure in 100 Countries around the globe.
“Our products are leader on the Italian market, but also highly appreciated in numerous Countries in Europe, like Spain, and even in the East,” Andrea Fedrizzi, Marketing Manager of the Melinda Consortium confirmed. – Thanks to our products, we managed to close the year with a positive mark, despite the COVID emergency. Being a ductile and long-lasting fruit, apples have proved to be a perfect fit for the people’s lifestyle even in this very peculiar phase.”
After an off year, the Tour of the Alps has extended the cooperation with one of its historical partners. “We are glad that the Tour of the Alps is resuming its path, tracing the footsteps of 40 years of Giro del Trentino, as well as of the Trofeo Melinda. Nowadays, the Tour of the Alps has to be considered one of the main events of the cycling season, thanks to its focus on quality and innovation, the same philosophy shared with Melinda,” Fedrizzi stated.
