At the start of the Giro del Trentino Melinda (April 21-24) we will see also an Italian National Team. After he discovered the parcours of the race, Davide Cassani, the manager of the squad, has confirmed the presence of a team on the roads of the race organized by the GS Alto Garda.
The course of the race that leads the way to the Giro d’Italia is a perfect mix for the project the manager is developing: sending a team of emerging talents in some of the most important races in the calendar, all this while wearing the national kit. The purpose of this action is to give young riders the opportunity to gain experience and also allow the group to have more cohesion. For these reasons, the Giro del Trentino Melinda is a perfect test, with its team time trial, hard and lesser known climbs, like the one to Monte Veloin stage two, and a nervous parcours, that doesn’t let the riders catch their breath since the start from Riva del Garda until the finish in Cles.
“We will soon make public the roster of the National Team”, said Davide Cassani. “I wanted to line-up a team for the Giro del Trentino Melinda, because I consider it a very challenging test from a technical point of view, but also due to the quality of the riders that will be there. It’s the best opportunity to test cyclists and their skills on the climbs.”
